The School of Chemistry and Materials Engineering has a professional education history of over 70 years. It isthefirst batch of majors in Henan Province that have passed the second-level certification of normal majors in higher education institutions by the Ministry of Education.Also,the first national first-class undergraduate major construction site of the university, as well as the first academician workstation and provincial engineering laboratory of the university, were established here.

I.Teaching Staff

There are currently 42 full - time teachers, including 6 professors and 12 associate professors. 39 teachers have a doctorate degree, and 50% of the teachers have overseas experience. Among the full-time teachers, there is 1 academic and technical leader in Henan Province, 6 academic and technical leaders of the Education Department of Henan Province, 4 young backbone teachers in colleges and universities of Henan Province, 6 teaching pacesetters in Henan Province, and 6 master supervisors.

II. Students

We have over 1500 full-time students on campus, and nearly a thousandgraduateshave been admitted totopuniversities such as Jilin University, China University of Mining and Technology, Ocean University of China, Shaanxi Normal University, Central South University, Dalian University of Technology, and Northwestern Polytechnical University. Among the graduates of 2024, 101 students were successfully admitted as postgraduate students. The overall admission rate for postgraduate entrance examinations reached 35.31%. The proportion of students admitted totopuniversitiesaccounted for 62.37% of the total admitted students, marking a new breakthrough in the quality of talent cultivation.

The admission rate for postgraduate entrance examinations has reached over 30% every year, and the college has been rated as a "Model Unit for Postgraduate Entrance Examinations" at the university level over the years.

The college actively organizes professional competitions, guides students' all-round development, and has established a multidisciplinary collaborative teaching model guided by competitions. Students have won first prizes many times invariouscompetitions such as the "Challenge Cup"Competition,Chinese College Students' Business Plan Competition, the National Chemical Engineering Design Competition for College Students, the National Chemical Engineering Experiment Competition for College Students, as well as in the Teaching Skills Competition for Graduates of Normal Education Majors in Higher Education Institutions of Henan Province.

The college has established long-term and stable supply-demand relationships with large-scale state-owned enterprises and listed companies both within and outside the province, such as Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), AVIC Lithium Battery Co., Ltd., and NHU Co., Ltd. The employment rate of graduates has reached over 98%.

III. Teaching Resources

A number of industry-university-research-application teaching and research platforms have been built, providing strong support for the cultivation of applied professionals. The school has 29 advanced large-scale instruments such as transmission electron microscopes and X-ray powder diffractometers, more than 2,500 sets of teaching and research instruments and equipment, with a total value of more than 80 million yuan. There are more than 60 basic laboratories, professional laboratories, and research laboratories, with a total area of more than 7,000 square meters.

The teachershavepresided over 38 provincial-level online open courses, school-level high-quality resource sharing courses, and bilingual teaching demonstration courses.
