The School of Fine Artshas a long history of professional education and is committed to cultivating artistic talents with innovative spirit and practical ability. As an important base for art education, the school not only provides students with solid professional knowledge but also focuses on cultivating students' aesthetic literacy and social responsibility.

I. Teaching Staff

The school was founded in 1997. Currently, there are 84 teachers, including 6 professors and 23 associate professors. There are 17 teachers with doctoral degrees and 11 teachers pursuing doctoral degrees. The proportion of "double-qualified" teachers reaches 45%.

II. Teaching Resources

The school has constructed multiple teaching, research, production, and application platforms, providing strong support for the cultivation of applied professionals. The school has 16 teaching and training studios and 14 professional creation and research studios. There are more than 5,000 professional books and more than 50 high-quality imitations of famous artworks.

Visual Communication Design:It is oriented towards industries such as advertising, packaging, and brand design, cultivating design talents with innovative thinking.

Animation:It covers aspects such as 2D paperless animation and 3D animation production, cultivating professionals in animation planning, creation, and promotion.

IV. Certifications and Honors

The Fine Arts major was selected as a "Provincial-level First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Site" in Henan Province in 2021. In 2023, the school won honors such as "Demonstration College of Industry-Education Integration in Henan Province's Undergraduate Universities", "Characteristic Industry College of Henan Province's Undergraduate Universities", and "Modern Industry College of Henan Province's Undergraduate Universities".

V. Student Development

The school strengthens students' innovation and practical abilities through industry-education integration and multi-disciplinary collaborative teaching.

Based on professional characteristics, the school actively adopts practical teaching models such as "project-based teaching" and "studio-based teaching". It has successively carried out exchanges and cooperation with enterprises and institutions such as the People's Government of Hongqi District, the Education, Sports, Culture and Tourism Bureau of the district, Xinxiang Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Badatonghua, Henan QiaoshujiangArt Training Co., Ltd., Henan Chaowei Architectural Decoration Design Engineering Co., Ltd., Xinxiang Dongzhen Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Xinxiang Jincai Color Printing Co., Ltd. It deepens school-enterprise cooperation and the integration of culture and enterprises, promotes the work idea of cultural protection and inheritance, helps the construction of the "industry-education integration project" of the school, introduces the requirements of enterprises, employment, and entrepreneurship into the teaching process, and expands the cultivation paths of applied talents.

Relying on the "1241" innovation-driven academic tutor system reform, the school has further improved teaching quality and students' professional abilities this year. For five consecutive years, 6 students won the first prize, 5 students won the second prize, and 1 student won the third prize in the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th Teaching Skills Competitions for Normal Graduates in Henan Province. In the 6th "College Students' Art Exhibition Activity in Henan Province", the students won provincial first-and second-prizes. The project "Millennium-old Murals that Can Be Taken Home" won the first prize in the HenanZoneof the "2020 Yangtze River Delta Global Creative Design Competition" and the bronze prize in the design and entrepreneurship module. Participating in the 2^nd"Little Tadpole" Animation Competition, the students won the second prize in the illustration and picture book unit and were shortlisted in the animated short film unit. In the 4^th"Creative Henan" Art Design Competition, they won the firstand secondprizes. In the 2024 "Challenge Cup" Henan Provincial College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, they won one "gold medal" and one "silver medal". In the Xinxiang University Career Planning Competition, they won the first prize, making new contributions to the school's acceleration of cultivating outstanding talents and the transformation of excellent works.

Many students of the school have been admitted to "Double First-Class" universities such as Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Zhengzhou University, and Jilin University.

The school actively organizes discipline-based professional competitions, guides students' all-round development, and constructs a multi-disciplinary collaborative teaching model guided by competitions.

VI. Scientific Research

The teachers of the school have strong teaching and research capabilities. More than 20 people have participated in important exhibitions such as the National Art Exhibition, the National Youth Art Exhibition, the National Chinese Painting Exhibition, and the Berlin Contemporary Art Fair. A total of 97 people have been shortlisted and won awards. Among them, there are 2 members of the Chinese Artists Association. Teachers Guo Changliang and Li Zhi have respectively won the National Art Fund. Teachers Liang Weifeng, Guo Changliang, and Li Zhi have been shortlisted in the 11^th, 12^th, 13^th, and 14^thNational Art Exhibitions. The school has presided over more than 10 provincial-ministerial projects and obtained more than 20 national invention patents.

Fine Arts

Relying on a profound artistic tradition and the background of the development of Chinese contemporary culture and art, this major aims to cultivate high-level, high-quality, and all-round developed senior professionals in the field of fine arts with an international perspective. Students in this discipline will master solid and broad basic theories and systematic and in-depth professional knowledge. They will have good moral character, cultural cultivation, and professional qualities, as well as innovative spirit and teamwork ability. They can engage in art creation, teaching, research, management, and curation in domestic and foreign cultural and artistic institutions, educational institutions, museums, galleries, publishing houses, etc., or continue their studies and pursue master's and doctoral degrees in domestic and foreign universities.

Animation

The Animation major belongs to the art category, drama and film and television discipline. Its main research objects are the creation, production, dissemination, operation of animation, comics, and digital content, as well as the research and application of related supporting technologies. It involves disciplines such as drama and film and television studies, fine arts, design, computer science and technology, software engineering, art theory, and communication. This major meets the needs of China's social, economic, and cultural construction. Based in Xinxiang, facing Henan Province, and radiating across the country, it cultivates innovative and applied talents with good ideological and moral character, excellent professional knowledge, strong practical ability, and high comprehensive quality for the media and cultural industry - related fields. These talents can engage in the planning, creation, production, dissemination, operation, or management of animation and comics.

Visual Communication Design

Graduates of the Visual Communication Design major can engage in visual communication design, printing design, product packaging design, advertising design, art design development, etc. in various media institutions, cultural and creative industries, various news media and publicity departments, and enterprises and institutions. Currently, China's economy is in a period of rapid development, and there is a large gap in the market demand for professionals in visual communication art design. In recent years, the advertising industry has continued to heat up, and the Visual Communication Design major has gradually become an emerging popular industry with a shortage of professional designers. Therefore, the Visual Communication Design major has cultivated many outstanding graduates at different levels for the development of the design industry in Henan.
