In 1984, the School of Computer and Information Engineering launched computer-related majors such as "Computational Mathematics (Undergraduate)" and "Microcomputer Application (Junior College)". To meet the needs of social and economic development, it has successively set up majors including "Computer Application Technology", "Computer Education", "Computer Network Technology", "Software Technology", "Computer Multimedia Technology", and "Computer Information Management".

At present, the school offers five undergraduateprograms: Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Internet of Things Engineering, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Artificial Intelligence. Among them, Computer Science and Technology has been rated as a first-class undergraduate major in Henan Province and a pilot major for comprehensive reform in Henan Province.

I. Teaching Staff

The school has a total of 77 full-time teachers, including 34 teachers with senior technical positions, 67 teachers with master degrees or above, and 7 master supervisors. It has 1 advanced grass-roots teaching organization in Henan Province, 3YoungBackboneTeachers in Henan Province, 2TeachingPacesetters in Henan Province, 3Directors ofAcademicGroups in Henan Province, 35 double-qualified teachers, 6 teaching masters and new teaching talents, and 1 senior Huawei instructor. The teaching staff has a reasonable knowledge structure, strong teaching and research capabilities, and high professional qualities.

II. Teaching Resources

The school has built 3 experimental and training centers, namely the "Information Engineering Experiment Center", "Software Engineering Training Center", and "Internet of Things Engineering Training Center", as well as 16 professional laboratories, covering a total area of 1,600 square meters, with an investment of more than 18.38 million yuan and about 2,800 sets of equipment. The 18 professional laboratories, such as those for computer organization principles, network engineering, embedded systems, data engineering, software engineering, Internet of Things, and big data training, fully guarantee the smooth progress of experimental teaching for each major. The school's reference room has purchased nearly 10,000 books and materials related to computers and relevant majors to meet the teaching, research, and learning needs of teachers and students.

IV. Main Honors

The Computer Science and Technology is a "Pilot Major for Comprehensive Reform in Higher Education Institutions in Henan Province" and a "Construction Point for First - class Undergraduate Majors in Henan Province". The school has approved 28 provincial-level online open courses, provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, and university-level ideological and political demonstration courses. Among them, "Principles of Computer Organization", "Principles of Operating Systems", and "Advanced Application of Office Software" are "First-class Undergraduate Courses in Henan Province", and "Principles and Applications of Database", "Principles of Operating Systems", and "Principles of Computer Organization" are "Provincial High-quality Online Open Courses in Henan Province". "Virtual Simulation Experiment of Network Routing in Computer Networks" has been approved as a virtual simulation experimental teaching project for undergraduate universities in Henan Province. Five provincial-level planned textbooks have been approved. Among them, "PHP Programming Basics and Example Tutorial", "MySQL Database Basics and Example Tutorial", and "Java Web Basics and Example Tutorial (2ndEdition, Micro-lesson Version)" are "14thFive - Year Plan Textbooks for Undergraduate Universities in Henan Province", "MySQL Basics and Example Tutorial" is the first batch of "14thFive-Year Plan Vocational Education Textbooks in Henan Province", and "Python Basics and Example Tutorial" is a new engineering and new-form textbook for undergraduate universities in Henan Province. The Henan Iron and Steel Manufacturing Big Data Industry Integration and Innovation Center has been approved as a big data development and innovation platform in Henan Province.

V. Student Development

The professional laboratories of the school, such as those for computer organization principles, network engineering, embedded systems, data engineering, software engineering, Internet of Things, and big data training, are open to students. Through the integration of science and education and multi-disciplinary collaborative teaching methods, students' innovation and practical abilities are strengthened.

The school has jointly established the "Huawei Information and Network Technology College" with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., the "Huadi IT College" with Sichuan Huadi Information Technology Co., Ltd., and practice bases with enterprises such as Henan Yunhe Data Information Technology Co., Ltd., Xi'an Branch of Beijing Huaqingyuanjian Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Henan Xintouyun Software Development Co., Ltd. High-level industry-university-research-application cooperation platforms have been built to provide high-quality internship and training positions for students.

The school actively organizes students to participate in subject-related competitions, guides students' all-round development, and constructs a multi-disciplinary collaborative teaching mode guided by competitions. Students have won more than 100 awards in extracurricular scientific and technological innovation activities for college students. Among them, in national competitions such as the China College Students Computer Design Competition, "Blue Bridge Cup", "H3C Cup", and ACM, they have won 38 national awards and more than 170 provincial awards. Dozens of students have obtained HCNA, HCNP, and HCIE Huawei certification certificates and got high-paying jobs.

The school takes serving the local economy as its responsibility and has been approved to establish the "Henan Iron and Steel Intelligent Manufacturing Big Data Industry Integration and Innovation Center", a provincial-level platform, as well as two municipal-level platforms, the "Xinxiang E-government Engineering Technology Research Center" and the "Xinxiang Emergency Management Engineering Technology Research Center", realizing a technology innovation system led by universities, assisted by enterprises, market-oriented, and integrating government, industry, university, and research. The teachers of the school have strong scientific research strength. They have publicly published more than 120 Chinese core and indexed papers, published more than 60 textbooks, obtained nearly 30 invention patents, completed more than 70 provincial-and ministerial-level scientific research projects, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements has brought economic and social benefits of more than 1 million yuan.

Students should have a solid theoretical foundation and innovative practical abilities, have a strong competitive edge in employment in enterprises, intelligent application software development, and project management, and become high-quality software engineering talents serving local social and economic development.
