On December 9, Henan Provincial Science and Technology Awards Conference was grandly held at the Provincial People's Hall, honoring the recipients of the 2024 Henan Provincial Outstanding Contribution Award, Science and Technology Cooperation Award, Natural Science Award, Technological Invention Award, and Science and Technology Progress Award. The conference announced the "Decision of the Henan Provincial People's Government on the 2024 Henan Provincial Science and Technology Awards." Our university, as the primary completion unit, and Dr. Miao Tongjun from the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, as the principal contributor, won the second prize of the Henan Provincial Natural Science Award for the project "Fractal Study of Heat and Mass Transfer in Pore-Crack Dual Media."Thisawardmarks a new breakthrough in our achievements in science and technology.
Dr. Miao Tongjun has long been engaged in research on heat and mass transfer in porous media. He has led and completed one National Natural Science Foundation project and one Henan Provincial Natural Science Foundation projectandis currently leading another Henan Provincial Natural Science Foundation project. He has received multiple honors, including "Academic and Technical Leader of Henan Provincial Department of Education" and "Outstanding Researcher of Xinxiang University." In recent years, he has published over 20 high-level SCI journal papers, among which one paper has been selected as an ESI Highly Cited Paper for nine consecutive years.
The award of this achievement vividly reflects our university's implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, strengthening scientific and technological innovation, and organized research in recent years, marking a new level of research and innovation at our university.
It is reported that the 2024 Henan Provincial Science and Technology Awards evaluated a total of 31 Natural Science Awards, including 3 first prizes, 17 second prizes, and 11 third prizes.
